what rear

    can anyone tell from these pics as to what rearend I have? This was in there before I bought the car. Its in my 70 Skylark

    8.2. get an 8.5 frm a 71 72 skylark . cheap and available parts and bolt in axles

    That is a 10 bolt 8.5 from a 1971 9172 Oldsmobile cutlass - It is a keeper. Jim

    send pictures of the yoke but I have enough casting info that I am sure it is a 10 bolt 8.5.
    It will have a 1 1/4" pinion nut and will also have 4 bolts and 2 strap system PLUS the u-joint cup size will be 1 1/8" compared to chevy 8.2 1 1/16" u-joint cup size.

    the other side of the rear on the pass. side there is a big O on it.
