We've tried a couple of different 15" rims to fit up to the 1962 Wildcat. Last ones we tried were a set of 7" rally wheels but no way will they fit over the big aluminum brake drums. Anyone running aftermarket wheels that fit ? What make / model / dimensions of rim and are they easy enough to source ? Would like to see a set of nice alloys on it.
With these wheels I needed to "trim down the fins With these I was able to put the finned drums back on and have room to spare. There both 15"
Thanks for your suggestions but I don't think trimming off the alloy fins is a solution we would undertake. Might have to hunt down a good set of these rally wheel covers as used in 1980s cars.
Jim are you referring to rally wheels or the wheel covers I pictured. Those covers from a distance look exactly like rally wheels and fit directly over the stock factory rims. I had a set on a Centurion I once owned and they looked great. Hard to find a nice set though.
Just want to let everyone know I did buy those wheel covers off guyrobert. I must take this opportunity here to thank him very much for all the efforts he went to in regards to packaging and shipping. As we say here --- you're a legend mate. :TU:
Your a very lucky man Ken - those caps are just not that easy to find in decent condition. I recall a set of NOS ones being offered here at a reasonable price, quite a while back, and no one was even interested. o No: Post a pic of your car with the caps installed when you can. . . . cheers mate :beer :TU:
