70larkownr Where did that civic go?

Hey guys, I got a 70 skylark that I'm gonna shod with some new rubber but need to know a good tire size. The rims are 15x8, some old american racing ones I really like, with 3.5" of back spacing. I'm just gonna spin them off some just give me some good sizes that are common that would fit, I want a tall tire in the rear. Im looking for tires for the front and rear, so please give suggestions for both and the car is at its stock height, not lowered.
    Thanks,
    Mack

You are going to have problems with those rims. You need 4.5" of backspacing to center them in the wheelwells.

With those rims, I believe the biggest tires you will fit up front are 225/60's, and in the rear maybe 275/60's, and they would be close to the outer fenderwell at the top.

Would I be any better off with the factory 14x6 rallies? What size tires should I run with the factory rims? Dont have the $$$ to get new rims yet!
    Thanks,
    Mack

Those 275/60's worked great in the rear and the 235/60s look good in the front!
    Thanks guys!
