    Howdy,

I'm now a turbo and EFI convert. As such I think it would be awesome to do both to something classic iron. Which do you vote for? Twin turbo EFI W-motor (348,409) or Twin turbo EFI Nailhead (401, 425)?

Lets hear reasons, I asked it in here since I know the answer I'd get out in the rest of the Buick board.

    Thanks,

John Brown On permanant vacation !!

I vote for the engine with the thickest cylinder walls, the smallest intake valves, the smallest bore and the longest stroke.

    • 1. Thicker cylinder walls will be safer with higher boost.
      2. Small intake valves aren't a problem since fuel and air will be forced past them.
      3. A smaller bore lets the flame front travel across the cylinder quicker with less chance for detonation.
      4. A longer stroke engine will make power in a lower rpm range. The last thing you need is a high rpm engine. Lots of boost (20+ pounds) at low rpm will safely make more power than most people will believe.

I guess thet means I vote nailhead.
