Edelbrock AVS and Q-jet are similar designs in that they both use an air valve to meter secondary flow, rods and jets on both primary and secondaries, and don't have a power valve to blow out. Main differences I can think of are the float bowls (Q-jet has one central, Edelbrock has two on the sides) and the size of the secondary bores (Q-jet is WAY bigger) Then there are the Edelbrock-built Q-jets, which I understand are fine, except they all have the sideways chebby-style fuel inlet instead of the proper front Buick-style inlet.
