I recently found a mid 60's buick lesabre (64 or 65 from the pics i've looked up)4 door just outside the barn of my new property.Under the hood the air cleaner says "355 WILDCAT",it has aluminum heads and intake manifold, along with aluminum drums.the body is VERY straight, with the interior being fair but looks original.I have never payed attention before but the body styling is beautiful and may very well be the 4 door i need to haul my family around in.Does this sound like a fairly original car?And what is a 355 wildcat? Are parts for this car easy to come by,or should i sell it to someone who will know more about what to do with it.......Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Sounds cool, what tranny might i find behind it and are parts for the brake system easy to find.I have never seen aluminum drums. And how much is it worth, not that i want to sell it,just curious?I cant seem to find aftermarket suspension for it.I would like to give it a cut here and there and make a nice custom cruiser.Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like a neat old car. I think the tranny behind it is a 300 trans or 400 trans. Its worth depends on it condition, but I'm sure someone would like it as a cruiser (I know I like my 67 LeSabre as a cruiser). As for the aftermarket, there probably isn't a lot for suspension parts out there. Just tryin ta help

Would selling the car really put you 'over the top' on remodeling?

In a related note, anyone recall the car show that used to be on about 10 years about, the host had big handlebar moustaches?

They had a Riviera on it once, a 65 if I recall. The owner claimed he owned it for a few years.
The aircleaner said "445" on it, and the owner had said that the engine was [I think] a 425, so it couldn't be the displacement...he'd have to "look into what 445 meant"!!!
I mean, seriously buddy, ever opened the hood before? Or think to appear knowledgable when the TV crew showed up? I was disgusted.
