I have a 68 electra convertible I have been tinkering with for about a year I'm thinking about selling, it's got the 430, a new top, runs good and the body and interior are in fair condition but I have no idea what it's true value is(I checked book value, but I know thats never anywhere near street prices)

    any help would be appreciated.

I hate to say it, but "it depends". Mostly its all about condition. Options help. It would help if you post some pictures. You can also check ebay and look up completed listings for comparisons.

:) Condition is everything. My '68 Wildcat convertible was recently demolished in a collision so I haggled with the insurance company and did some research. I found streetworthy '68 Wildcat converts for every price from about $4000 to $23,000 (mint car). However, I think Wildcats sell for a little more than Electras because they're more sporty and fewer were made. Mine had a very, very nice interior and good exterior. I wound up settling for about $8,500. Now I'm rebuilding the car and having a real good ole time doing it. Anyhow, if yours is too good to part out, its worth at least 3 or 4 k. Price goes up from there as condition goes up.
