Whats that on the valve covers

    Every time i look at an old engine 60'-70's i see these little things that look like little air filters?? Any help would be helpful.

    there crank case breathers shown above are generally added to higher performance vehicles or if an aftermarket air cleaner was added.

    most cars have a tube like this (below). the black tube on the right side of the engine going from the valve cover to the air cleaner

    I wish the parts were out there to make my 340 look that nice, that engine has a good clean look to it.

    Yea I know life would be alot easier if more parts were made for these 340's. Such as Headers, intake and some chrome valve covers. I called postons today about their headers, they said for a lesabre like ours would need to be modified to fit around the frame. And Im searching for an intake to convert to a 4 barrel. Still confused on weather Im going to just get a 350 or not, but my 340 only has 33,000 miles on it. Well good luck with your 340.
