What is the best kind to use? Right now I have carpet type floor mats and they are driving me nuts. They catch the stuff but the only way I can get the stuff off is by vacuuming the mats. Are there any good looking rubber ones that work?

Id get some truck cup shape pads. They will cost a bit more but can hold a big gulp or two without getting the floors wet. They also hold all the junk n stones n other crap. Style wise they may not be as cool but your carpet will stay new forever. You can keep a set in the trunk like posted above if your showing it off.
