whats the difference between a 1970 Buick Skylark and a 1970 Buick Skylark "Custom"? This might be a stupid question, but hey...before you are old and wise you have to be young and dumb...i guess. School me! :Smarty:
options mostly. i think the customs were non post cars and the regular skylark was a post car. mine is a custom and the original options included split bench with fold down arm rest, cruise control, rear window defroster, and a vinyl top. it has manual locks and window cranks. originaly a 350/350 car with 2bbl carburetor. i'm putting the "custom" in custom though.
hmmmmmmmm!?! Let me check some numbers right quick. I might have to add the word "Custom" to my sig. Thanks...
In general, I always thought "customs" usually had a little nicer interiors and maybe a little extra chrome trim. o No:
Most Customs I've seen had the sail panel interior lights, split bench w/armrest, AC, 4bbl carb. For the most part I believe it was interior/exterior trim level pkg. My Skylark 350 was a base model w/air, straight bench, center roof dome light, 2bbl carb, and it also had the thin rocker molding.
My father bought a 1971 Custom new that I ended up driving. I remember woodgrain dash, sail panel lights, 4bbl, and an upgraded hubcap. It was a non A/C car. The Custom was a trim level. The strange thing about that car was that it came with a GS steering wheel. I don't know if that was an option then.
