What's the original ride height?

I'm still waiting on my fisher body manual that I think has the ride height data so, in the meantime, what are the ride height figures from road to wheel well, and road to door bottoms on my '71 GS455? Here's a pic with 1/2 tank of gas. She looks a bit low in back and maybe in front too.

The 71 assembly manual shows, Front ground to wheel well of 26.52", rear: 24.32 ", front to bottom of rocker 9.74", rear (in front of rear wheel) 9.43 "
It says the dimensions do not include moldings. I would bet that these measurements are with standard 14 inch wheels versus 15, but it does not say.

Thanks, Steve. My front is 25.5 and rear is 24.6 so I'm a little low in front and a bit high in back. That surprises me that the back is supposed to be lower than the front but I'm used to seeing GSs with larger tires in back and a lot of guys also put taller springs in back to allow for wider tires.

I agree that the measurements you gave me are probably with the standard G78 x 14 tires but the optional sizes aren't that much different.

    G78 x 14 = 27.1 in
    H78 x 14 = 27.8 in
    G60 x 15 = 26.4 in

I've got smaller than stock 235/60 x 15 tires on there now. The 245/60 x 15s should bring my measurements up about .25 in both front and back. So, I might just leave it alone. Thanks for the info. I'm gonna have to pick up one of those Assembly Manuals. I had one once upon a time for my 1970 GSs but got rid of it years ago. Are the reproduced Assembly Manuals readable enough so that not a lot of info is lost? Repro manuals are all that I can find these days.

    Ray,

Great looking "GS"...........but glad to see you are still keeping the Marauder in the picture!

You bet! My Marauder is a keeper. Has over 97,000 on it now and trailers my boat all over Florida.
