My name is Wes and I live in Washington DC. Just bought a 69 Wildcat from an auction. The car is nice the body is still fairly solid all of the trim is intact and the door hinges are still very serviceable but I cant get the friggin key to turn I will post the problem in the troubleshooting section of the site and I hope to hear war stories from you all. I am sure that I will have quite a few with this thing.
    Thanks again. WES

Welcome aboard! The '69 Wildcat is one of my favorite-looking cars.

if you have the original style GM keys, in '69 the square one opened the doors and operated the column lock and starting functions. The round one was for trunk and glove box opening

    Hope this helps ..

after this comment ill move the thread. but when I purchased the car it didnt have a key so I bought a new lock cylinder and installed it and it wont turn. I removed the cylinder to see if the mechanism that the cylinder operates would turn but it doesnt either. But it will go backwards???
