Just drove my daughters Bonniville. Has something bad going on in the front end. Grinding sound I think on the right side, starts at about 30mph. I just put new brakes on it. Can feel it in the steering wheel. Will smooth out if I accellerate hard enough for a down shift. Does not go away in neutral. Tranny shifts fine. Has 125,000 miles on it. Anyone with experience on this please let me know what thoughts you have on the problem and fixes.

does it go away or change in sound when you bear left or right?
a wheel bearing is more of a rummble or vibration and will change in tone when you bear right or left because it changes the load on the bearing.
if it didnt have the noise before you did the brakes , and now it does, I would inspect what you did to be sure its not something there.

I am going to check the brakes. I know sometimes the caliper bolts will back out. Was fine on test drive and bed in for the brakes.

I would say a safe bet is the hub, at least that is what it sounds like to me have had to put many of those on for those conditions described. Jack the car up on one side an grab the tire at the top an bottom an see if you can rock it from top to bottom or side to side there should be no play in it if the hub is good.

Thanks for the replies. Will jack it up Sat. From the research I have done this is a common problem on these cars. 100,000 miles and it is a good idea to replace. Does not look like a hard job. Just need to find the slide puller and get some propane for the garage heater.
