How big is the difference between running aluminum wheels vs. steel rallyes, in horsepower & et that is. What is the weight difference between the Buick rallyes & say the Weld or Centerlines. I finally got a new rear so now I would like to get the 14's off & go with 15 x 8's or 10's and a drag dot tire so now I'm trying to decide between the Buick rallye or aftermarket. I do like the look of the stock rallye but was curious between the differences.

    Thanks,
    Ken

I remember doing a thread about this a LONG time ago. I have 15x10 Buick rallyes on my car and use 15x8 aluminum rims when I go to the track.

I seem to remember that the change in tires equated to a 44 or 54 lb. difference. Doing the same on the front would generate a car that is 100 lbs. lighter. Every 100 lbs. you can take off of a car equates to a tenth quicker ET, more or less.
