Hi, I have a 1964 Buick Riviera. I am putting American Racing wheels on front and back. I know that I need to machine the rear wheels for the lip on the end of the axle or put a thin spacer on. On the front hubs can I tighten the wheel right to the hub or do I need to put a spacer there, these Buick hubs are all new to me. Thanks in advance for the help. Ray

Spacers are unsafe IMHO. I would never use them. It usually means you are trying to make a wheel with the wrong back spacing fit. Bad idea.
