I am changing the studs on my 81 from customary to metric, because I just got new caps for it that need metric lug nuts. I have the studs, and the lug nuts, I know I need to drill out the holes, but after that, how hard is it to change the studs?

i assume that u mean rear wheel drive.
if u have the proper equipment, u can press the stud out of the hub.
but as for drilling/reboring the hub, this work will have to be done using a drill press.
this is not easy work to do & to be sure every rebore is centred. u need a jig.
    u might consider new axles.
personally, i would not even consider reboring.

WOW. Sounds like a lot of work. Looks to me like I should have somebody else do it. Thanks.
