I have a comparable experience with babymoons from china. they where once (!) driven in salty conditions and spotted rust the next year. the rear bumper as chromed in 67 endured the same salt bath and Is absolutely perfect, so there must be huge differences in the chrome job.
Tim, I was just ready to order 4 rims from wheel vintiques. Glad you let us know. I checked there warranty and is only 6 months. Specialty Wheels warranty is 15 months, much better. Could somebody let me know what size rims I need. I am looking at the BF Goodrich 255R6015's. Looks like maybe 8" for rear and maybe 7" for front. Any suggestions would be great. Gary
15 X7" is fine for the 255's. The 15 X 8" is good for the rear if you want to run a bigger tire in the rear. Have a look at my response to Eagleguy here: http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?254593-Stock-tire-size-for-1971-Skylark
Thats the question of the day Jason. I guess we will tally up who has the most negitive comments. Thanks Larry for the input. I like the look of the 255's. If I buy 8" for the rear I can go wider at a later date without any issue's. Gary
I've had the chrome Cragars on mine for 2 years, and always keep them waxed. That being said: even my wheels still have some pits in them. Chrome is a real pain to keep intact...I had a new set of freshly chromed Buick rallys before which developed pits and rust after just one month. Best bet is to wax them every 2-3 weeks, and try to keep them dry when possible.
My chrome Cragars have been on for about 5 years and still look new like the tires on them. Although the car is garaged which Im sure makes a difference I still use chrome polish on them regularity. If I didn't I'm sure the humidity in Florida would have gotten to them by now.
