finally ready for heels and tire for the 66 skylark. it is staying basically original and am looking for input on wheels and tires. i am considering 225-70-15 on all corners, bfg ta's. also will be looking for 15"x7" rally wheels, i saw mitch R has them and so does caruso performance. any other options? can anyone help me to not screw up? tire size is optional but i definetly am going for rallys. it's not going to be a race car but i like meat on the wheels. thanks for any help, john

To put big rubber on your 66, you will need more back spacing thn comes stock on the 15 X 7" Rallyes. Have a look at this thread. http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?265170-Largest-Front-Tire-Wheel-65-Skylark

I have a 1970 GS. I know what back spacing needs are for the 70-72 cars. I am almost certain that you need more for the 66. I don't think there is that much difference between a 65 and 66 Skylark/GS. Stock back spacing for the Buick factory Rallye 15 X 7 wheels is 4 3/8". I'm thinking you need at minimum 5". Someone here with a 66 needs to post what they have.

    I'm using 15x7's on a couple of my '66's, 4-3/8" backspace.
255/60-15's are a tight fit.... They're good if the rear is centered under the body, and it's lifted a bit.
You should be fine with the 225's.
    :TU:

BTW, I'm using 235/60-15's on the front without any problems.
