Hello, I hope I'm posting in the right place now... In a few weeks I'm going to California to visit friends and I want to pick up a new interior to my skylark 1971 convertible. If this sounds weird to you should know that I live in Sweden and a interior would be much more expensive here. Anyway I guess my question is where in socal can I find a complete interior to my car? Earlier when i've been in cali I have bought lotts of parts at NPD in Ventura but they only sell interiors to Chevelles so I guess my second question is would a chevelle interior fit my skylark? I need prettymuch everything but kick panels (gonna get the ones with speakers) dash and the floor mat/carpet. Thanks! Patrik
A chevelle interior would probably fit, but the pattern (stitching on the vinyl + door panels would be different. If you plan to re-use anything like the door panels or rr seat, it won't match. The best interior supplier is Legendary Auto, you would have to have it shipped, they are in NY and custom make everything. I'm surprised NPD doesn't have an interior for you. Did you look online? Most places only stock black, you have to wait for other colors. Most places sell from a Co. called PUI, Legendary is way better quality and not much more $.
There are only two places that make it. One is in New York and the other is in Tennessee. Both states are on the east coast of the U.S. You want the Legendary interior that is made in New York. Have your relative order it right away while they are still having a sale so it can be shipped to him in California. Otherwise you are taking a risk no one will have this in stock. www.Legendaryautointeriors.com It may be better just to have it shipped direct to Sweden.
Thank you all for your answers. I did look online at NPD's website but I could only find a chevelle catalog. Whats rr seat? I think I'll do like you all say and order from the east coast. And have them ship it to my friends in cali. I'll call them and see what offer. I didn't see anything about a sale on their website thoug.... Btw I'm looking for a white interior.
I have an email from Legenday about continuing their Christmas sale. You do not want a Chevelle interior. Contact Legendary by Email or just call them. Like I said only two companies make your interior--PUI and Legendary. Legendary is the better of the two. Also it may may a difference if your car is a Skylark Custom versus a plain Skylark.

Call LEGENDARY NOW!! - I'm doing a couple Olds interiors now that were ordered during this sale...one has arrived and it took a few weeks for them to fill the order. Still haven't seen the second one yet so it's still in the works (it was ordered at least two weeks ago). They don't have piles of interiors already completed and laying around waiting to be sold. I think they are VERY busy right now making the interiors that were ordered during this sale so you need to get in line ASAP!! TELL THEM YOUR SITUATION....you're coming into the country and have a limited time to pick it up. Hopefully they can get it made and out to Cali in time for you to pick it up. Make it clear to them what your schedule is and make sure they can meet your schedule and needs. THEN...call them periodically before you arrive to check the status of your order...don't assume they will get it done and shipped when they say it will be done (had another Olds buddy that was waiting forever for them to get a pair of door panels out to him and the guy he was dealing with kept telling him "give me your number and I'll call you back to let you know what I find out about your panels"....it never happened...never a callback (this occurred in 2011). Finally, I think he got tired of the runaround and let the guy have it after hearing the same thing about three different times. Panels eventually arrived.
How in the world are you planning on getting it home ? ON the plane ? Just a front bench seat cover a lone is HUge! Id have it shipped directly home. Plus they ain't gonna get it built in a few weeks. White is the hardest to match dye lots so they are built by order not on the shelf. Or are you buying a car here and planning on putting it inside the car ? DL
