Where do these connect?

I have 2 loose items. These are on a '74 Century 350-2. One is a hose on the underside of the air cleaner. There are 2 hoses, one routes back into the air cleaner, the other is open just hanging there.

The other is a wire that comes out of a connection clipped onto the A/C bracket with "S B C" labeled on it.

Currently when I flip on my fan in the dash, nothing happens. Nothing comes out of the vents, no sound like a fan coming on even.

    Any help would be appreciated.

The hose on the air cleaner should go to a manifold vacuum source. On the 2 bbl, I believe it goes to a fitting on the front of the manifold. The wire is your super heat switch on the back of the compressor.

Thanks, I'll take a look to see if I can find where they go, now that I know more of where they're SUPPOSED to go!

    (What's a super heat switch?)

EDIT: Ok, I THINK I found where the wire goes. It's the only plug on the back of the AC compressor, and it popped on without a lot of effort. So I guess that's where it goes.

Naturally, while removing the air cleaner cover, I snapped the hose that plugs into the filter on the side of the cover. The filter is really dirty, I'll have to get one of those too.

While looking for the clip that holds the hose to the cover (it popped off and flew across the engine bay) I used my magnetic pick-up tool to pick up a bunch of rust dust from the battery tray area. It's rusted through a bit worse than I thought, but for now it is holding up. For a restoration it'd need a lot of work, for a daily driver, it'll be fine for quite a while.
