    got a pic ?
can not help ya with the numbers but -
front mounted distributor ? if so then probably a 300 and a good chance it may be a 4bbl motor . some of the real basic lesabre's had a 300 with a 2bbl - i had a 64 that did but of course that was the tin head version .
rear mount distributor ? nailhead . could be a 2bbl version , my dad's 63 was a 364 2bbl version I believe . I was only 12 but I was payin' attention pretty good . had to start figurin' which car I was gonna buy when I was 16 and rich !

    For 300, 340 V8s:

The engine serial number is stamped on the left front face of the crankcase, just below the rocker arm cover. On cars equipped with power steering it will be necessary to remove the power steering pump bracket to view the complete number.
The production code number is stamped on the right side of the crankcase and can be viewed between the middle branches of the right exhaust manifold.
