Where can I find exhaust pipes, specifically the intermediate pipe between the Y-pipe and the muffler? My '68 Buick Skylark (350, 2bbl, single exhaust) is a daily driver. At some point it'll be restored but right now I'm simply looking for a functional replacement. Something that bolts up to the stock manifolds without changing, cutting or welding anything. I checked Walker and Maremont, but they don't go back that far anymore. A lot of the brands (Dynaflow, Hooker, etc.) seem to sell only header systems or 2-1/2" pipes instead of the stock 2-1/4". YearOne appears to have some of the parts, but then there's the oversize shipping. Gardner Exhaust is relatively close, but their quality is overkill for my car. I want it like the old days... I would walk into NAPA and the next day a bunch of pipes appears behind the counter, ready for me to pick up . Any ideas?
try http://pypesexhaust.com/downpipes.html they list downpipes etc. for 68-72 Buicks. May need to call. Prices were cheaper than my local midas shop
Pypes is the closest, but their headpipes only mate with 'generic' dual-exhaust systems, not stock setups or single-exhaust. Does anyone have any experience with "Classic Exhaust" in Geneva, OH, (440) 466-5460? Their Hemmings ad shows single exhaust (plain steel) for $210 and dual for $270.
I got tailpipes for my 67 GS locally from a place called Indee Exhaust in Erie, Pa. I couldnt believe it when the guy said "Yeah we have them in stock". And they were only $21.00 ea. I dont know if they will ship or not but I bet they have what you are looking for. It might be worth a phone call. I can get you the number if interested.
