!977 Riviera (BZ) I've got the shop manual with all of the pretty diagrams. Battery has something draining it. I charged the battery and move the neg terminal off & on the neg battery terminal. I hear a relay (?) click from the drivers side. There's only a few accessories wired hot all of the time. Power locks and power seat come to mind. It's not the courtesy lights or cigar lighters. I isolated them from the system. I'm thinking it's in the power door lock circuit but I could be wrong. Before I tear into it...Anyone experience a similar problem with a B/C body? Any suggestions where to look first? :Do No:

1BadWagon i got too many parts.....

do you have a/c? an alarm? hoock up a amp meter in series with the negative battery cable and see what it says. if its more then .25 of an amp then you have too high of a paracitic draw. if it doesnt go any higher then .25 then i would have the battery load tested.:beers2:

Thanks for the input guys....It's drawing about 2 amps...that's significant! I'll have to pull fuses/ circuit breakers one at a time to verify the circuit, then trace from there to find the offending relay and correct the problem.

also check your voltage regulator. do u have a power antenna? if it is not able to extend or retract, it will continuousy draw juice.

Thanks, Integral Regulator, power antenna works as it should. I haven't had a chance to tear into it yet. Only briefly try to identify the circuit. I'm pretty sure it's in the power door locks or seat. I imagine there's a relay for those under the dash on the drivers side. I really can't get into it right now...I broke my leg/ankle back in February and the cast comes off today. I'm not a big fan of doing auto repair while using crutches. Once I'm in a boot I can tear into it. Just wanted to see if anyone had experience with this gremlin. I've been leaving the neg term on the battery disconnected and connect it when I have to use it for a Dr's appointment...like today.

    I FOUND IT!!!!!!! :beer :beer

Son in law came over today. I hobbled out to the garage on crutches. He got inside and I made contact at the battery. The relay under the drivers seat was clicking. He looked at the switches mounted on the drivers side bottom cushion and the rear tilt button was stuck in the down position. Being on crutches I have to slide out to the edge of the seat and pull myself up on the crutches. My fat *ss on the edge of the seat pushes the rear tilt button down and it sticks. WHEW!!!! Time to go on a diet.
