How about putting a vacuum gauge on the engine and telling us what you are pulling, warmed up, and in Park. Also, what initial timing are you running?

Just go to the auto parts store and ask for a vacuum gauge. They are not expensive. Then hook it to a source of manifold vacuum. You can usually find one on the carburetor. With the engine running at idle, that source will hiss when you disconnect it. Hook the vacuum gauge there.

While we're asking for info, can you tell us more about the mods to the engine?

While the cam was being installed, was it "degreed", meaning were the valve open/close points checked against the printed cam card supplied by TA?

Also, where is the initial ignition timing set at the moment?

The more info you can provide, the better we can help.

Also adjust the idle mixture screws to get max vacuum... It is a balancing act between the idle mixture, idle speed and timing... Get all 3 correct and you will have the highest vacuum possible.
