Getting ready to paint my 72 convert. Should I paint the car then put on a new top or new top then paint? Thanks

I always paint the cars first, then have the tops put on. I've got a good upholsterer who is very careful and has never damaged a car putting a top on. If you put the top on first you will have to be super careful not to get any overspray, buffing compound, etc. on it. It's just a lot less hassle getting it done after paint.
