Which Piston/Ring Combo?

I'm about ready to start ordering parts for a 455 build, and was wanting to get recommendations on the piston/ring options I'm considering. First, this is for a mostly street driven '68 Riv, 3.42 gears, switch pitch 400 with 2,000/3,000 stall. I'll be using the TA 413 cam, SP1 intake, Osborne QJet, stock distributor converted to MSD trigger, MSD-6AL, shorty headers, and a set of heads that have been mildly ported (250 intake, 190 exhaust @ .500). The pistons/rings I'm looking at are (1) TA's 1611B .038 over spherical dish 10:1 with the 1/16 ring package and (2) TA's .030 over 10:1 forged pistons with the 5/64 ring package.

My basic question is, are there any reliability/longevity issues with using the 1/16 rings? I've used them before on street driven Chevy motors and haven't had any problems (that the rings caused at least). I guess I'm just wanting to hear the pros and cons of using the 1/16 rings.

    Thanks for any insight!
