Which programmer for my GMC Sierra tow vehicle?

    Do not under any circumstances use plug in pre-programmed tuners.

    Do your homework, find a tuner that knows what he/she is doing and has lots of experience with your setup.
    Pay them accordingly!

    The direct injection motors aren't a whole lot different than the Gen 4 motor, with the addition of the injection. They use a lobe on the camshaft for the high pressure pump, which you have to upgrade if you significantly change the airflow. The aftermarket camshaft manufacturers are including modified fuel lobes in their designs. If you're not going to modify the motor and just want an improved stock tune, it shouldn't really matter.
    I'm pretty happy so far with our '18. It gets excellent mileage (20-24) all the time and has respectable power. The only odd thing I've found is the transmission is programmed to shift pretty slowly. It obviously drops throttle, shifts, and reapplies throttle, almost like a manual. I assume that is to make the trans live longer.
