My nephew just blew the posi out of his '79 Pontiac GP and I can get a Gov/Lock diff for less than a posi.

Is the Gov/Lock better or worse than the 7.5 posi that just shredded?

And yes I know the 7.5 is crap but it has to do for know:Dou:

GOV LOCK Worse for performance.... How did the posi break? Over powered OR just too many miles and old? Jim

Too much motor I guess:Do No:

Its a '72 pontiac 350 with a big cam, headers, torqer intake, holley carb, ported heads and a shift kit:3gears:

We installed the posi and left the factory 243 gears for about 2 weeks, then a couple of days ago we put in 308s.

The car did great with the new gears but after some playing around the posi blew:ball:

The spiders, springs and plates turned to chunks but the 308s were fine, so we put his open carrier back in for now.

So now we need a new two-wheel-gitter rear end and Im looking at our options:pray:

I have the whole rear end from a '72 LeMans Id like to use if I can:Do No:

Well I make a great G-body conversion rear direct bolt in 10 bolt 8.8 Ford or 8.5 GM. I can send a quote all I need is an email. Just remember Some money has to be spent for drive line parts to stay alive. :) Jim.
