Guys,I'm really trying to get the bug to start playing with my car again...I figured if I read about what everyone else was doing maybe I could draw some inspiration...Fish
not car, but building amotorcycle motor this winter! and hopefully getting it into the bike, maybe rigid frame, and longer forks too.
as soon as i figure out how im going to make room to work on them, i have the 2 gs verts to do. the 66 is first on deck seeing that the 70 needs floor and trunk pans.the 66 is at least solid underneath and has a very nice body, so other then the interior, motor, top, some body work, maybe a little electrical and a paint job it should be easy. id like to have the 66 done by next fall, then i will actually be tearing into the 70. lots of work. :TU:
Putting on Buick super sport wheels, then it is time to redo the bucket seats I have sitting in my garage and swap out the bench seat in my convertible.
putting a sump in my oil pan with a built in windage tray and putting my stage 2 heads on with a diff. cam. Cody
o yeah and diff springs in the front and rear with adjustable uppers and i also need to do something about my brakes. Cody
Hibernating! Too cold to work OUTSIDE on cars in winter! Keep them in storage, buy all the parts you need for them, wait for spring/summer to work in shorts & t-shirt, and get things done as much as you can, then, while still driving them!:beer
Back when I was younger I didn't care about a cold garage floor, swimming in tranny fluid or whatever..now I'm not down with that stuff..cold busted knuckles suck!
I'm putting the finishing touches on a 1967 Mustang Fastback. Then I have to assemble a '72 Monte Carlo I started on earlier, Then it's drive train work on a '69 Camaro. I have a pretty racey 401" small block chevy I'm building, a hot street 454 chevy, and a mild stage 2 455 Buick. All 3 engines need to be done by spring. After all of that I'm starting on a complete build 1967 Chevelle with a fuel injected drivetrain, 5-speed manual, 4 wheel disc brakes, etc, etc. I also have to look over the 900 hp 505 inch drag race car I take care of and freshen up a 358 inch circle track motor I take care of. I start a new job a week from Monday (the above is all done at my shop evenings and weekends) and in what little play time that I get I like to ride my 170 hp 500 lb snowmobile:Brow: I thought this looked like a fun post but you guys will understand that I'm not on the board a lot. I could use an 8 day work week, ha ha.
Pulled the motor and trans out of Buizila. Gona try to find some more HP&TQ in her and the trans is getting a freshening up with blue kevlar clutches and a brake. I'm removing the fiberglass Stg2 hood and putting the stock back on,and a couple suspension mods. I'm also shooting for finishing up on my 3yr 87 T/R project for the spring so I have a busy winter ahead of me.
Starting on the 72 "field" car, hope to have a painless wiring harness in and the 455 in by spring, it's a real jewel....lol .. guess the boys will have to drive the truck to the bus in the morning...
Swapping the 7.5" rear for an 8.5" so I can finally put some sticky tires on the regal and get some ets posted!
I gotta get my garage put together so I can start tearing down the 70 stg1 I bought this summer. Found two more cars and don't know exactly what I gotta do with them yet. Oh, and visit relatives and Navy buddies and Buick guys down in Florida this winter. Should keep a partially crippled guys out of trouble anyways. lol
Yeah yall sound like a busy bunch...Im going to retime the motor today because I bumped it over some the last time I primed the oil pump..shouldn't have done that, but its a good enough reason to refresh my memory on how to start from scratch and I need to back it off anyway for pump gas. Pretty light stuff compared to the projects yall have going, but hey..baby steps...Fish
gonna put the body back on the frame on my chevele hopefuly wire it up correctly for the buick finish all the fab work and hopefully ready to drop my other 462 i just built in and be ready to smoke some chevys this summer
Put together and install 10 bolt posi setup, reupholster my front seats, install front disk brakes, figure out why my coolant leaks at my thermostat housing? Keep trying to find a 3spd auto linkage and shifter. Hopefully keep the barn warm enough when I am out there to do all this! :3gears:
