does any one sell these carpet pieces or do you have to make them up your self ?

Dan, my 72 has a thin factory mat with samll ribs in it. I actually found a great original looking replacement in an industrial floor mat catalog at work. I'll try to find the info for you. Tony

I used one of those industrial floor mats mentioned up top. Got it from the guy who drives the uniform truck. Perfect color match and just the right width .Just had to cut to length. Best part is he let me have it for $8.00 If you have a linen service near you ask a driver about used carpet runners.

    Don,
How did you bind the ends of the carpet? Got extra carpet from Legendary when I had them do the carpet set. All I need to do now is cut to fit, but can't find anyone around here to bind the edges.
The factory carpet has a certain type of loop stitch that no one around here has seen or is willing to duplicate. Also don't want to spend outrageous $$$ to have it done.
Using a vinyl or cloth edging would work too, but nobody has a sewing machine that can get through the plastic carpet backing on the new carpet.
Sure would take a L-O-N-G time to sew it by hand. :eek2:

    Thanks,
    Mark

Ask your local carpet store about binding the carpet ends. I had it done with left over carpet from my staircase in the house to use as door mats. Was pretty cheap. I'm sure they could do that with automotive grade stuff too. Tony
