Here is the newest memeber of the family...1966 GS #'s,70k miles, window sticker, build sheet,etc...Original owners parked it because the back window cracked and then they used it for a bench for the next two decades...Always garaged so no rust issues at all, lucky me...
Oh yeah almost forgot about this one,67 GS clone...The crowds love this one at the cruise-ins...Never had the top down since purchased...Just changed out the tires and changed the oil...This one also sat for 20 years before I got it just as it is...
Rogbo1... Believe it or not I was sitting at a swap meet selling some GS stuff and the guy asks me if I would be interested in the car and I asked what was wrong with the car and he said he has no interest in it anymore, that he would rather keep his V.W bus(I wasnt arguing)...So I asked what color and he said black, then I said not the interior the paint and he replied BLACK,sold!... sits in the garage, with the keys in the ignition.:3gears:
I love it too, it is funny how car sometimes come to you. I consider those things a omen in life and I buy them too. That is how I found my 74 by chance, I really was not sold on 1974's but I brought it anyways because it was mint and cool.
Roger, i could have purchased your car for a real inexpensive not to be disclosed price in MN (had no room for it), I am still kicking myself in the rear for not buying it. It has really been spruced up a lot since then, but it was the steal of the century then. Cool Car, my loss your gain.
I assume that was when Tim Coyne had it for sale. I vaguely remember it being on the forum but wasn't in the market then. Like the above 67 ragtop wasn't really looking when Mark had it for sale. Decided to go for it with the idea I'd enjoy it for a while and get back to one, my 72 Black HT. Now I can't decide which one to keep, love the one I'm driving at the moment! Will have to wait 'til next spring and take some more top down cruises. Of course my wife votes for the convertible. What color is yours, it doesn't look totally red or flame orange, maybe the light condition at the time.
Never saw one like that! Was triple blue available from the factory? You Minnesota guys sure have some nice ones.
Yes we do.........something about the long winters I think.o No: My cowl data plate reads 191 for the interior trim = blue vinyl........F - 4 paint code......F = blue mist poly......4 = dark blue convertible top. Protecto plate top left line reads 191FF4. I've never seen another one like it......anyone else?
Mine is a 1967 GS400 Convertible, Ivory with White top and black interior. 20 year barn find that I picked up this summer. Missing GS hood, grille and engine. Looking to get her back on the road. JimBoBBuickBoy, I just fell in love. That color for the body is awesome. I am not an ivory guy and will be changing the color of mine when the body is done. I think I just found my color. Blue Mist Poly!!!! Was debating between non GS colors: Prowler Orange with Black top or Charcoal Gray with Black Top. I am thinking Blue Mist Poly with Black top now!
Good luck with your restoration. Post photos along the way and when you're done so that we can all share in the experience :TU:
Here's my '68 LeSabre custom 400 in a recent picture from the Buick picnic at Bob Everett's house in July. Sat in a barn in Eastern WA for 20+ years. She has 99,300 original miles with one repaint. Interior is original, except seats. Wish it didn't rain so much in Seattle......
WOW Jim, that is a purty triple black! Is that the real deal? Black or Platinum Mist are my hold out cars that I would love to find...well those 2 colors or an Apollo White GSX, but I'm going to have to fix a bunch more pools and spas to afford the latter
