    I remember my Mom having a Lesabre Wagon,Mid 60,?.
It had the speedometer buzzer that we used to reset all the time. She used to get pulled over a lot.She never looked at the speedo, just listened for the buzzer.
When I came across this Jeep with the factory 350 I jumped on it.

My first Buick, is the '69 Skylark, that I got just a week ago.

I ended up buying it because of looks, after not being able to get a Ford Maverick which had a built 302 in it. I asked my dad about buying this Skylark I had seen on eBay, couple days later he loans me $3,000 to buy it.

Soon I'll post a picture of me with my car.

BTW: I'm 17, and I love classic muscle cars.

    BuickLark66 Lost in space

I came home from the hospital in my moms 66 Buick Special. My folks had always been into cars when I was younger. My father had a 68 Camaro RS (327 4spd) and previously had a 55 Chevy drag car. Between the Dukes of Hazzard, Fall Guy and Knight Rider and the car posters covering my bedroom walls, I was doomed to be a car guy from birth  . I raced bikes, R/C cars and built all kinds of toys out of old lawnmowers and snowblowers.

Fast forward 15 years. I was heavily into the import racing ( I guess I never got the lawnmower urge out of my system  ) scene as well as off road craziness in the local desert when a beautiful young woman in a 67 Buick Special drove into my life. She rekindled my interest in the classics. I shed my cheesey import ways and bought myself a 66 Buick Skylark. For less then 2 payments on a honda I had a classic. Sure it needs a lot of work but it doesn't sound like a lawnmower and I don't see 20 of them on my way to work in the morning.

BTW, the girl with the Buick.. We have been together for almost 3 years and often spend weekends in the garage turning wrenches on our Buicks...

Guess I was in the right place at the right time. I went to help Mike Garrison pick up a 67GS in Harveyville Kansas. (15 miles east of the middle of nowhere) and we ended up dragging it out of a sheep pen where it had set for 14 years. Now when looking at a car being dragged by a tractor thru sheep poo, by a custom looking trailer hitch installed on the GS (Not factory OEM equipment) my first impression was "What a POS!".
The next day I was off work and stopped by Mike's body shop to kill some spare time. I then ended up pulling off the trailer hitch that was on the Buick and thinking "Why farmers dont need welder's". After that grueling ordeal and went about pulling out all the pieces and parts left in the vehicle.
Now maybe just being around that GS or maybe just the fumes of drying sheep poo (This is a family board so I have to stick with poo) but I began to really take a liking to it. After cleaning it out I spoke to Mike about what it would take for him to part with the GS. $150 later I owned a 67 GS 400 4 Speed car - minus the 400....and the 4 speed.....and the rearend.....and the trailer hitch.
The next task was to rebuild it to its former glory...and slowly I was accomplishing it until April 4, 1992.
That day I was in a motorcycle wreck. Lady ran a stop sign and turned into my lane. I ended up with every major bone in my right leg broken, my left hand had the thumb broke off of the skeleton, and other miscellanious fractures. The next day I lapsed into a coma for 2 weeks and the doctor was not optomistic on my recovery.
During this time Mike, went and painted my Buick and another friend Chris Olinde finished putting in the motor and tranny. They did this because when I got out of the hospital they wanted to surprise me and they knew I would come out of my coma.
Gentleman I am here to say I will own that Buick for the rest off my life because of what it means to me and knowing the friends I have.

Thanks really doesnt say enough, but thanks Mike, Chris, and all my friends and family.

Because, in Montana, a buddy ordered from the factory a '70 HO455 4spd GTO and we had a blast cruising it all over the West and as far as New York. There were tons of Chevelles, Mustangs, and Mopars around but I wanted a new GS Stage 1. Went to the dealer for a brochure (they didn't even have a GS on the lot) and drooled over that for a couple years until other priorities took over. I never even SAW a GS until 1998 if you can believe that. I bought it. It's not a numbers car (original GS350) that's now Stage1 + and like new to drive with a bunch of upgrades to engine, tranny, suspension, etc. Took me 30 years to get the car of my teen dreams.

I'm from Flint. We may get trashed a lot but we put 455's in everthing back in the 70's. I had two Olds with stage ones, a 66 88 that would do about 150 mph. A 65 Cutlass that would spin its tires at 80! Our race car haulers, pickup trucks and even the cops had big blocks (they drove Wildcats !)

Except for my boat have not owned a v8 since the 80's. Finally had the money (or so I thought ) so I had to have a Buick.
