To let everyone know why I've been absent from the board for the last week or so I thought I would drop everyone a note here.Saturday about 9 days back I was hospitalized for a burn injury where I recieved third degree burns over 8 to 10% of my body and had to undergo skins grafts over those areas.I consider myself a careful person around gas and fire but to save a long story this happened while burning a brush pile.Because of several factors ie God,my son,and that it had beening raining before I began the brush fire;I am still here today.I escaped a firey death last Saturday but I had already escaped a firey enturnal death when the Lord saved me six years ago.I am now even more thankful for the price he paid for me than ever before.I should recover 100% from the doctor reports and have seen the most painful parts of this ordeal thur.I am feeling better now and hope to be back on the board again soon ,thanks

Good luck with recovery Rusty. I am thankful it wasn't worse. It is a painful thing. I watched helpless as my father caught fire back in 1988. His pants were blazing and if not for a good man to dive on him with a coat and put the fire out, he would have burned to death. That man died at a young age 2 years later when cutting a tree limb out of a fallen tree. It snapped back hitting him in the head while he was on a ladder. But, I know he is happy now!
Dad stayed in the hospital for 3 weeks and had to have 5 surgeries on his leg to save it. The most painful thing for him was the grafts themselves. Oxygen treatment chamber sessions really speeded the healing process for him.
I hope you have good insurance. Dad ended up paying near $30,000 way back then because his insurance company sucked.

    Get well soon!!!

    Rusty,
My prayers, too, go out to you. I know I never think something like this could happen to me, because I think of myself as a careful person. But I guess all it takes is a little gust or a momentary lapse of vigilance and the next thing you know you're in the hospital (or worse).
    Hurry back to good health!

Thanks for everyone's prayers and concerns.I was in the hospital for 7 1/2 days but my recovery is coming along faster than expected. My doctors have said that I must stay basicly out of the sun for a year;which will be very hard for me to comply with but I know I must.I have had to have help from parents/family for a while so as to get bandage changes done that I could not do on my own but that phase will be over soon.
