So ACC carpet for my 72 GS is $256 from ACC and what is supposed to be the same carpet is $140 at most other places. Anybody have experience with ACC carpet and where you bought it. Seems the maker should be cheaper to me, what gives?:Do No:

Its called supporting your dealers by not undercutting them. We have a stocking dealer network, and they get discounts based on sales volume.

If its the same product buy wherever it is cheapest.

Okay thanks David. I thought it might be because they get a bulk discount but I was surprised they could sell it for less than half. I guess the manufacturer would rather make their money from bulk sales.

Or maybe it isn't really ACC carpet at the other places...?

Also...make sure you're comparing "apples to apples"....is it possible ACC quoted you a carpet set with their newer "noise barrier" attached to it? (this isn't the jute). I saw something on their site referring to a "mass backing" option (or some other term they used to denote a higher grade backing) on their carpet sets. At $140 or so at the other places...that's for the standard factory-like setup...carpet with the synthetic jute glued to the back. Just another thought.

All my rides could use new carpet, and I consistently talk myself out of it.
$200 for some padding under my feet?
Performance parts ultimately get the funds.
At least I can see some worker actually forging the parts...rather than some china man running a weaving mill.
