    Hi guys
I have a 72 skylark and would like to fill the guards a little more with tyres. What im wondering is if a 275/50/15 will fit in there and what sort of rim offset/width i need to look for. Currently runnig 215/70/15 but theres about 3" gap between the tyre and guard/fender. Anyone been down this track and has any info would be appreciated.

Here is my car with 285/70R15 street tires and the track tires are 295/55R15 and they fit with plenty of space and I have no fender mods or mini tubs:

I got the 15x10 rims at summit for about $150 each so I bought 2 sets to have a set for street tires and a set for the track.

    I would use...

235/60/15 on a 7" rim for the front.

    275/60/15 on a 8"rim for the rear.

Back space at 4.5 for both. Gives a nice stance.

:TU:...or 245 on ft with 8" rim...also like look of drag radial from rear...

I have a 15x10 wheel with 5.625" backspacing. My tire is a 325/50R15 and it fits if you're willing to trim back the top of the outer fenderwell lip.

I know of moog springs that jeve 1 in extra free float so you can do 325 with no need tk trim or use air shocks
    Just hmu if interested

I bet the rear of the car would really sit up high.

Do the tyres look like baloons, thinking 275 50 so the side wall isnt bouldging to much. Guys in the tyre shops say 275 is to wide for a 8" rim.

Find another tire shop, your guys don't know Jack Chit.

7.5" to 9.5" is recommended size for 275/60/15s.
