I've searched a lot for this info. I can't find anything about cars with skirts on. I love the look and want to run Buick Rally's. What's the best combo of rim width, height, and back spacing for widest tire? Thanx in advance!
I don't think you will find much on this, skirts aren't very common. Not being very familiar with them, I would ask you to take a look at the inside surface of them. The only thing that would make a difference in clearance would be the way they attach on the inside that decreased the clearance in addition to the the normal wheel well edge. Otherwise, the same BS requirements for 68-69 cars apply. A 15 X 8" wheel with 5-5 1/8" BS will fit a P275/60R-15.
They must have made them for some years. I see a set for sale for a 67. http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.p...Fender-Skirts&highlight=Skylark+fender+skirts I never call seeing any on anything but B, C and E bodies.
Here is a 68 set advertised:http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.p...Fender-Skirts&highlight=Skylark+fender+skirts
Thanx for the help fellas. The skirts came on the car when my father inlaw bought it new in 67. I love the look. Very classy but it's going to be rowdy with the engine build being done. I'm gonna need some traction
Is there a Buick Rally 15X8 with 5" BS? I saw 4 3/4" BS. If I could get a 255 60 on the back I will be happy.
They came on Custom trim. Amazing in 2017 no one hardly knows anything about '68 models. In regards to wheel / tire size question, the largest factory was 205R/14. anything much larger then 225/14 is going to interfere with the welded on skirt brackets. DL
