I can put the tool in the mail in the next 2 days, if you think you really need it, I took a walk in the treachous snow up to my knees to the trailer to get it!
I'm not sure you want to be here for the Power Tour at the Tech Center, that's at least an hour away, and I may not be here, :beers2: etc

I don't quite see the big deal with those little trim pieces, can't you just re-chrome some used ones?

Kimson......you have to have nice cores. You are in Cali where the chance of finding these parts are much higher. The better you start with the better you end up with... Don't want these pieces to be the only crappy die-cast on the car.
Here's a pair that a V8 member sent me from Illinois....and NO the screw holes are NOT original.
These parts were almost never worth saving from a mid-west car......

I am still looking for a nice pair....the ones pictured will be used as a last resort.

    Topcat Got TORQUE?

Kimson.....you have to remove the inner rear door panels and then the glass to get at the screws and be able to take the lower stainless window trim off. Once that is done you have to peel the rear of the driprail moulding up and away from the car....only then can you unhook the moulding and remove it from the drip rail it's lipped into......

BIG MONEY $$ waiting for a perfect pair

Had to notch the front of the original style trans mount and shave the rear edge....that way i don't have to re-drill the cross-member for the newer style mount with a different bolt pattern.

    More progress soon.....

    Topcat Got TORQUE?

This sunday i take the car to the painter.....been very busy......here's some photo's of the final mate-up of the Gear Vendors Overdrive and the totally re-built 69 "BT" TH-400........

Milled the GV adapter's trans mount pads down the thickness of two shims and then added them with the new NOS mount so that i will have some adjustment in the down direction to dial in the right driveline angles and alignment.

After putting a straight edge across the back face of the adapter and seating the transfer hub fully on the trans output shaft.....you take the supplied round shims and use just enough to fill the gap made by the ruler and the hub edge.....put them in the end of the hub and they take up the end play between the trans and the overdrive

overdrive input shaft......notice pump cam right behind shaft splines......

And then you end up with this........man, it's long

The challenge is back on.....for the 30th GS Nationals !
