Oops, we did it again! '65 Ragtop Cat. Just got home from a pretty huge Roadtrip... Roadtrip Story follows... Right after purchase in front of the hotel. On the road...
Thanks. I have to upload the others too. I was so lazy the last time. OR was I busy? Or maybe busy beeing lazy!
Nice...I've done the Canadian Rockies in a convertible, would love to do the Alps...Isn't mountain scenery fantastic in a convertible? Beautiful car too!
---------- Post added at 05:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:31 PM ---------- Yes Mountains rule!!! Back home: Very nice floors! Intriour is Le Sabre I think.
Cool car! The interior is definitely a re-upholstery job, and unfortunately an amateur one. The short console was never offered in LeSabre, so there's a good chance that the seat is the original one. The door panels would have to be re-done to make them correct again, but most of the hardware looks like it's there for the regular (not the upgraded "Custom") interior which was based on the same pattern as the LeSabre. On that Pontiac, is that a small-block Chevy motor in there?
The good news is that PUI has reproduced the custom interior door panels and seat covers Is it a 46467 or 46667?
It's a big block. SBC has no bypass hose at the back of the water pump, plus other things like the valve covers are a lot wider.
Okay...that makes sense. Now the million dollar question; - is it a Chevy big-block, or is it a true Pontiac? I guess the colour threw me off... Either way, it's a neat car...and nice to see that even in Europe there's a following for US musclecars.
Guess I wasn't clear. That is a BBC. Pontiac has the two near cylinder (4-6 and 3-5) exhaust ports on the head next to each other, just like Buick and SBC do. BBC spreads them out "evenly" as seen on that pic. BTW, AFAIK, ALL Pontiacs have the center cylinder exhaust ports next to each other. I'm willing to be educated otherwise. (Maybe the SD was different, faint bell?) Before the advent of catalytic convertors, I could have told you what brand of car went by down the street, within reason.
* We bought that for a friend. Not sure we have half of it, don't think so, but we have now eight '65 Cats in our small town! 3 mine, 4 my buddy and the 1 my other buddy has. Plus I want to get another '66! U can never have enough Kittens! Trust me! :Brow: And yes of course it is a 454 Chevy with a 4 Speed. And yes in Europe there is a HUGE Muscle Car, or say american car following! Really big considering the size and the european car culture! Sweden, Switzerland and Netherland always was! Germany now also! Ever since I was a little boy, there was nothing finer than an american car. When we passed the armed forced station back in the late 70's and early 80's I nearly jumped out of our Mercedes just to see those "Amischlitten"! Then Matchbox, Hot Wheels, Siku and Corgi Toys, and Television did their rest to hook me on! "Movin' On, Smokey and The Bandit, Fall Guy, Dukes", etc.... AFN Radio played Country Music, Monogram and AMT had Muscle Car and Truck Model Kits..... Why blame me for being what I am.... Thanks lord I'm not into those other things. I'm still the same guy I was when I was 5 to 9 years old. Sometimes it's hard in this modern world. People think I'm an Alien, but u gotta get through. Real Cowboys ride alone..... Happy new year to all of u!
