I am trying to find information on the platform that the wildcat was based on from -65 to -70. Is it true that the wildcat is based on a c-body (from electra) but with modified body panels from b-body lesabre, and that the extra length in the c-body is used on the hood (to get a more powerful look)? If that is the case, the lengths of the trunk should to be similar between Wildcat and lesabre but the length of the hood should be similar between electra and wildcat.

I have googled this a lot but I have not found any satisfactory answers yet. Can anyone answer this? Or tell me where I can find good information on this topic?

From 65-68, the Wildcat shared the 126" wheelbase with the Electra. I know on the '67-'68, the Wildcat and LeSabre share the same body from the firewall back. The hood on the Wildcat and Electra of these years are the same length, while the Le Sabre hood is @3 inches shorter. Wildcats are classified as B bodied cars throughout the years. In '69 and '70 the Wildcat was downsized to the 123" wheelbase of the LeSabre.

Discovered that 3" difference on a '68 Cat when I attempted to use a '68 LeSabre fender to repair a '68 Cat - ended up using only the front sedtion of the LeSabre fender.
While they looked like an exact match, that '68 LeSabre fender was exactly 3" shorter at the rear. :TU:
