    will 15x7 with a 2inch offsett fit a 68 skylark
    i picked up a set of 4 two wheels are 15x6 with a 3 1/2 offset (front)
and the other two are 15x7 with a 2 inch offset (rear)
i took the measurements from the backside of the wheel outer edge to the lug hole.
they are cragar ss wheels and i know the front two are fine and i plan on refinishing them i just don't want to waste time and money on the rear ones if they won't fit
also if any one has this set up on thier car and have a pic i would like to see how they look
    thanks
    chris

    Chris.

I think you are confusing offset with rearspacing. Offset refers to the relationship between the centerline of the wheel to the centerline of the tire.

What you measured is rearspacing, and 2" on a 7" wheel would cause some interference at the wheel opening lip. The 68-69 cars like about 4.5" of rearspacing on a 7" wheel.

thank you i got the directions online on how to measure wheels but looking at them i didn't think they were going to fit
i really only wanted the two 15x6 ones any waybut he threw in the other two just to get them out of his basement
am i correct in assuming the 15x6 with the 3 1/2 back spacing will work and also do you know if these wheels will work if i end up doing a disc brake conversion down the line?

The 15X6" with 3 1/2" of rearspacing will fit fine. They should work with disc brakes of stock size, but if you are going with aftermarket discs they may not clear.

be sure that the 15x6 are 5 on 4.75" bolt pattern. as far as i know, only 15x6 were not available on the a-body cars.

I think he mentioned that they were Cragars. So they should be unilug. I suspect the 15x7's might be reverse offset wheels? Are they a super deep dish?

To my understanding Cragars come in more than 1 lug layout and also a "blank" option that can be machined, so you really should check this out.
Check it out on the cragar web page if you like, but check the lug layout.
Also, don't underestimate the cost to re-chome... it can add up.

Would be easy enough to tell if they were unilug. Just look for the elongated lug holes, no?

they are unilug (elongated holes) and a company up here in ma. gave me a estimate to refinish each wheel at $85 a piece not rechrome but painted in a color they call classic chrome which is very close but obviously not like the original finish

they are a super deep dish here is a pic of them and i thought i had found another pair of 15x6 to match the ones i have but those have a 2 1/4" back space i don't believe those will work either so i will keep looking
