Will a 12 bolt from a 67 Chevelle fit in a 70 Skylark? Also are any #'s cast on the housing that will help determine what the rear end is (gear ratio, ect..)

Yes and its 1inch narrower :TU:

The breakdown codes are on the passenger side tube, between the backing plate and pumpkin.

So if you were in front of the passenger rear wheel facing the axle tube just start wire brushing

The housing will have a letter code for the gear ratio but it may have been changed at some time. You can open the rearend and count the teeth to get the ratio that is in it.

Here are a few pics of my 66 12 bolt. The 67 should be 1 inch narrower than your current rearend but will fit. You can now use wider tires :)

The date code is on there also.
