Just completed the Wilwood set-up for the front brakes on my '70 GS. Anyway I installed the medium race disc set-up. THe complete weight of both sides is 32 pounds. After installing them I weighed my complete factory drum brake set-up in the same box and it weighed in at 52 pounds. Now I know the factory discs weight a ton more. But anyway 20 pounds of unsprung weight plus the new addition of an aluminum driveshaft over my HD 2 ton steel one should be a plus in et and mph. THe Wilwood set-up is straight forward and easy to install, EXCEPT you have to drill and re-tap the top bolt hole in the spindle from a 1/2" thread to a 5/8" thread. Once that's done the rest is cake to install. The kit number is 140-1017B 1967-72 Chevelle, disc/drum spindle. If your driving on the street I would recommend the HD kit instead.

That's aluminum drums, and the entire drum brake assembly shoes, bearings and all minus the master cylinder

Just a reminder, the Wilwood Kit is the racing brakes medium duty, not for the street application, they do sell a HD set-up, don't know the weight of those.
