I just have a quick question. Is window tint applied on the outside or inside of the car? I want to get the windows tinted but the rear quarter windows have some gunk on them that would not allow you to tint them if the tint is applied on the outside.

It is applied to the inside of your windows.Usually they wet the window to get it placed correctly then use a squeegee to get the air pockets out.

Careful with that stuff. It wrinkles real easy, or at least the old stuff did. That Eagle we had had factory installed tint. We got the car in 95, drove it for about a year, and the tint started to wrinkle around the edges. Oh, by the way, inside.

I was gonna have it done by a pro, I've seen enough custom rice tint with bubbles.

I tinted the windows on my 75 Regal. It goes inside, uses water to "activate" the adhesive / vaccum to keep it in place. Once it's dried, you need to use a razor scraper to get it off. Took me a weekend to get it right. Not a single bubble. There used to be a spray on tint, but I would think that would be incredibly difficult to use and get an even film. One warning, it does scratch. If your window rollers are dirty, it will eventually scratch the tint, but you can always replace it. The other secret is to remove the door panels so you can get the leading edge below the felts and leave about 1/8" around the windows clear. Should last you for years. I'm thinking about doing this on my convert.
