    Hi,

I am looking for a source of factory style screw-in windshield molding clips

I have bought ones from OPGI and seen ones on-line at Year one and both are not correct for my application (screws too small for holes)

Does anyone know if someone still makes these or have a few old ones they would like to part with as I have my glass guy scheduled for Friday

    Thanks
    Jim

You might try Restoration Specialties www.restorationspecialties.com to see what they have. Also I would suggest posting pictures of the clips you need along with pictures of the screws. Do you have screws or do you need screws? The screws only hold the clips, they aren't special screws, at least not on the cars I have worked on. But post pics and tell what you need, I have some clips. I bought a bunch of clips last year when I was doing a 67 Sport Wagon, I had ALL the trim off, had it polished and reinstalled it all, I have some things left over from that. The wagon had a lot of different clips around the glass on the roof, some of them were really different.

    Hi all,

I actually found a set on EBay will add a link to their store had to look at 64-65 pontiacs before it would come up with them 10 bucks and free shipping just hope they come before Friday

Yeah I was suprised they were different than the ones sold from OPGI, if I would have known I would have welded the holes shut and redrilled but now I have fully primered and rust encapsulate the cowl (after I leaded all the pits smooth)

I will let you all know how it works out

Kurt so this windshield cowl you are doing if this for the Buelcamino (yes my spelling is off) you need to post a few pics of that project

    thanks for the info all

    Hi all,

As promised here is clips I found that are identical execpt for color to the factory 65 clips

I do not have a part number but here is a listing for Pontiac that look the same

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/64-6...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

    The clips I bought have a item# 200584217899
Name of the company is Fastners Plus

Note: I did not use the screws that came with them as the holes in my car were on the large size (screws would not tightened) so I used some #10 x 1/2 long Stainless Steel screws with a dab of GMS silicone (Napa Ultra Black) on them and the clips so hopefully no more water leaks

should be getting my windshield in the car on Thursday then get to try out the new trans...

    later
