Ok....I know some of you are laughing at how stupid this post is....but I really need to know.

What wires go where on the windshield wiper motor........actually a pic would be great if somone would be kind enough to take one.....thanks so much :beer

No such thing as a stupid question.
Do you still have the connectors on the harness?

I sure wish that fax would come in. I'm "At work" in my home office, closing a tender this afternoon. Been playing on the computer for an hour now!

    Steve...

Hmm....maybe I have the wrong motor, because mine looks a little different. I also have those two clips and some individual wires that have clips on the end of them. Are there any connections below that two prong clip in the center of the unit?

I will grab a pic of my setup tonight, Im not explaining myself very well :Dou:

I assume you just got a new motor?

This happened to me, from Year One about 5 years ago. They assured me it was a depressed park motor for my 1970. Hardly! It had extra wires and when I got it sorted out, no depressed park.

My input on your problem? Your wiring harness was correct when it left the factory, so it's the motor, not your car's harness, that isn't right. It's a 'generic' motor if this is the case

The motor used without depressed park has a completely different look. Rectangular can sticking out from the firewall. Mine had that style when I bought the car.
As long as you do not change from one style to the other, same wires, same connector
    will plug in.
Should you change styles, to depressed park, you need a few more parts. Wiper arms, wiper linkage, bottom windshield trim are different. A jumper under the dash must also be removed.

Oh, I didn't keep it. I just got it to work after they assured me it was different in looks only. Then I removed it and found the right one, at a junkyard

I believe the connectors will only go on one way in one place, on the correct motor. Wasn't that smart of Buick?

Not sure who has the "correct " one...you or me.
Try putting the wires on,one at a time, in the same order as mine. My wiper/washer works fine. Possibly one of us has a later style, but may do the same job.
Your inlet/outlets for the spray outlets should be pointing down. Kits come with either set-up, easy to change.

I've since looked at another car, '72 Custom ragtop. The washer pump on it agrees with the one you have. Wire connector in a lower position than mine. Mine was "supposed to be" NOS when I bought it. Likely a later year. It fits & functions perfectly. I've heard & read that some NOS pieces were not exactly the same item made in previous years.

well I attatched my wires, kind of following the same as pictured above. The problem is that as soon as you turn the key, the wipers go on. They have just one speed and wont turn off. Im assuming its a bad switch in the dash.

Two possibilities here, well, maybe three.
1/ Your ground wire has come off at the switch. This is secured to the switch case by one of the mounting screws that secures the switch to the dash.Flat metal loop with a spade end to accept the wire from the harness. Very similar to the ground connector at the headlight switch.
2/ Check your switch. You should NOT find a short intermediate harness at the switch, connected to the dash harness. 4-5" long, 4 conductors. This intermediate harness was used only on cars that had the NON-PARK wiper motors. I missed this point while converting mine over to the depressed set-up. Found it.....eventually. Wipers acted very strange. This harness actually changes the wiring configuration for the different motor.
3/You have a bad wiper motor assembly.
