Hello, I have a good pair of chrome wing windows that I planned on installing in my car. How difficult of a job is this?

I disassembled a 72 4 door car which has vent wing windows. It seems that the hardest part will be getting the pivot to line uo, and then getting the first machine screw to start on the operating mechanism. You'll need an assistant! Last time I looked around, most people only have two hands. You will need three at least.

Just to clarify, I have the whole wing window assembly, including the long stem.

It sucks, but it's not impossible. I've done a handful now and pretty much have it down. It would help to have 3 hands but can be done with just 2 :)

Are the replacements from the same model / year car?
I tried to put nice vent windows from a '71 4 door, into my '72 2 door. They did not fit proper, mounting holes were off through the door frame, I forget if the angle of the frame was off or not, being a 4 door version. I put my originals back in.

2 and 4 dr window vents are different sizes, I think the 4 dr's are larger......

they're supposed to be from a 69 skylark, 2 Dr, but who knows, I've had them for about 10 yes now. Can the year/model be known by looking at them, is the a part number?

You must mean a '68. '69's don't have wing windows.

Toughest part is getting the assembly up and out of the door without messing up anything. Can be a real knuckle buster - I'd wear gloves or get ready to bleed a little. If you are going to replace the vent window seals, that's another mini Pain in the butt. Gotta drill our rivets and stuff.

I'm not sure, after looking closer, that these wings are correct for my car. Pics attached. The biggest issue is that my dorr window frame seems to be one whole piece; but these replacements are not. The first pic is my wing window and the rest are the replacements.
