Can anyone tell me how to remove the wiper arms off of my 70 Skylark? Also has anyone had to replace the wiper transmission assembly on their buick?

They both come off the same way. There is a small spring clip at the base of the arm. You need to just hold it open with a small screwdriver, and gently pry the arm off the drive splines. The drivers side has an additional arm. There is a retainer that slides back on that one. Take a really close look at the base of the wiper arms, you'll see what I mean.

I changed the transmission in mine when I converted from non-hidden park to hidden park set-up. Make sure you get parts that agree with what you currently have. Wiper arms, transmission linkage, motor, even the stainless windshield trim at the bottom is different. Wiring harness changes also required.
Very easy job, done thru the mesh at the windshield base. You may need to take the motor off as well.
I have a non-park transmission from my '71 available should you need one.

Once, the spring on the driver's my side arm had broken in a rain storm, I didn't know of the clip, and couldn't pry the thing off. I had to drive about 50 miles sitting in the passenger seat. Then I learned of the clip.

Ever see Laurel and Hardy with the windshield wipers on a string?

Thanks Larry70GS, those wiper blades are a pain to get off, even with your advice. I just hope that I can get them back on.
