I need a wiring diagram or instructions on wiring from the kick-down switch on the accelerator to the tranny. Fax # 910 454 9078 Thanks John
68-72 GM A body wiring John, there should be a plug under the dash with a pink wire and an orange wire. This plug's into the switch on the accelerator pedal. The Pink wire is the "hot" coming into the switch, the orange is the wire sending power down to the trans. You should find a single orange wire coming out of the bottom row of wire's on the firewall bulkhead wiring, this should have the female spade plug for the TH-400. Wire could possibly be black with orange tracer stripe, or orange with black stripe. But.......some car's that did'nt originally come equipped with a TH-400 will not have the wire coming out of the bulkhead into the engine compartment, but most all car's will have the plug under the dash, even non-TH400 car's??o No: If your not worried about originality, cut the orange wire as it come's off the switch by the pedal, and run your own wire from there down to the trans. Hope this helps?
Thanks Tom. Will look at it today. I think someone cut the wire from the swithch to the tranny. Nothing majic about it - or so it seems. Car is a W-30 and came with OW tranny. John
John---looks like that guy in Houston is advertising another of his Olds "collection" cars--this time the blue 70 convert over at 442.com. Patton
Patton I will try again. BTW Thanks to Tom Miller. Wired straight to tranny and just got back from test drive. Push down on accelerator at 45 mph and leaves rubber when comes out. Goodyear Radial ST's Makes an old man's heart skip a beat -- hell I forgot my heart skips beats after surgery. John
Double down on the Depends in advance of the ride just in case. Smoking them better now than when we went out?
