In the attached pics are 3 wires that I believe run the blower speeds. The Yellow is medium, the light blue is high and I think the dark blue w/white stripe is ground. Not shown is the black(max) wire connected to the blower fan behind the right fender. My question is this....Where do I hook these wires up to? Do I connect them to the black wire(max)? If I remember correctly, the blower had only 1 terminal to hook up to. Any help on this matter would be great. Thanks...John.

    What year?
Looking at your colours this is a non-AC car?
There is a resistor mounted in the heat ducting that varied speed of the fan based on selector position. Resistor is 3 conductor connection.

1971 A/C car. Where is the resistor in the ducting?

    Ok there are 5 wires:
    Black (max)
    Light blue (high)
    Yellow (med)
    Brown/tan (low)

Now, when the blower is on, the blue with white stripe powers up to bat voltage, also, all speeds blow the same, except for max which you can tell is a little faster. So it seems that there is no resistor or the resistor is not working. What about putting inline aftermarket resistors on the lower speeds and run them all into a connector that goes to the blower motor power wire
    (5 into 1)?

I guess this is the resistor I need to replace????

Your pic is of the AC relay, leave it alone.
Resistor is near lower edge of AC box under the hood. 4 wire connector-tan,blue/white,yellow & lt. blue.
I'll scan the wiring diagram & e-mail it to you.
Let me know where to send it.

The resister is a air cooled unit that goes in the air duct so it can be cooled by the blower fan. You have to have it in the circuit. Far simpler than putting a resister on each wire. Less expensive too. Find the bad resister and replace it.

Thanks Steve & Doc for the help. You can send the wiring diagram to... jlnman@comcast.net

I'll go look for it in the meantime.
