Well, after waiting for months on my pistons, they will be done on November 7th. The set I'm having done is the first/prototype set for the 350. These pistons are needed for high-performance applications for our engines. Once my engine is done it should be around 475+ horsepower. They said once my set is done it wouldn't be a problem to make more for the public. Keep in mind these pistons are the best you can get on the market as far as quality and performance is concerned. These are the same quality as the 455 piston Wiseco makes for racing applications. If anyone has any interest, you can speak with Jim Burek.:TU:

Thanks Ken, I was to the point of pulling the plug and putting a 455 in. I'm glad that this drama is coming to an end in my life, as I always wanted to keep it a 350. I've waited 6 months for these pistons and hopefully I'll have the engine sometime during the winter. So Ken, you ready to pull your 455 out yet? :)

    Rob-

I'm working on a parts list now for the engine. I plan to post here once I have it mostly completed to ask the experts for feedback. I only want to do this once and do it right. I saw here that TA is having a sale, so I want to get in on that wherever possible, where it makes sense. I realize that I can't buy everything until it's yanked and been to the machine shop, but whatever I can buy I'd like to. I'm hoping I can yank it around Thanksgiving weekend or so. I want to do it once and do it right. That is my goal; not to ever worry about it again.

I'm glad to see you're back in motion on getting your car together. So if you get your motor over the winter, sounds like you should be in good shape for next season?

The pistons that are being made for my application are forged flat-top pistons with valve reliefs. I believe they will yield a 10.2:1 to 10.8:1 compression ratio, but that can change depending on how the engine is put together. The set going in my engine is around $500-600, but being the first set made I'm unsure if the price will lower for following sets. If you're interested, you can speak with Jim Burek as he has the insight on the pistons and what will be available for the 350.
